Yesterday, after the concert, we went to sleep at 2 a.m.
Today, we have to wake up at 5 a.m. to get the plane to Kolkata where we play tonight.
3 hours of sleep, a whole day in the plane across India via Dehli, and a concert tonight ... The longest day of the tour !
It is so early that the airport is empty. A good occasion to take some pics.
Then the flight
A nice halo around the shadow of the plane :
The story of the Indian divinities :
Super siesteman :
The Himmalayan mountains, almost at the same altitude as the plane :
The typical yellow cab of Kolkata
We play tonight on the congo square jazz festival. We arrived on time at 3 p.m. for the soundcheck. However, It is the first day of the festival and nothing is ready ... Christophe and Camille
have to do a lot of work on the Power Amplification so that the concert could happen ...
Christophe takes a rest backstage before the show
Probably our most difficult concert due to the long trip and the bad acoustic conditions but a nice memory anyway.

The day began by a guided visit of the old Ahmedabad thanks to Chinten. With Bhopal, Ahmedabad will be our only chance to visit a little bit India like tourists ...
I was amazed by the texture of the walls, their wonderful colors and the calmness of those narrow streets. I also falled in love with those old scooters :) Now I want one !
Two hours later, time for the sound check. The outdoor stage was ready for us but unfortunately, the weather wasn't ... so we had to change our plan and to prepare the concert indoor.
With Chinten ...
... and with Philippe
Camille was like a child with the Digico soundtable :
Fortunately, the public was not afraid by the rain and 800 people were there, our largest audience in India ! With a fantastic ambiance
Many thanks to Lucie who took this picture and who filmed us during the concert ! :)
At the end, the stage was literrally invaded by the crowd for buying the CD, geting autographs or pictures with us
One of our best night (and best day) in India for sure !
and two great articles :

New flight from Pune to Ahmedabad, capital of Gujarat, famous because the Indian independance movement of Gandhi began there
The concert takes place in the Gujarat Sports Club, close to a very large stadium. We were welcomed by Philippe, the new director of the Alliance Française of Ahmedabad (and previously director
of the Alliance of Kathmandu) and Chinten, his cultural assistant, very fluent in french !!
Barely arrived in the sports club, we had to attend a press conference with a lot of journalists.
This press conference was full of teaching for us : we now know that we have to be careful when the photographs ask us to have a special attitude because they like to choose the strange pictures
for their articles ;)
After the interviews, we were invited by Philippe and Chinten to a good restaurant to eat our first Tali (without alcool because Gujarat is a dry state ...)
Back to the sport club where we are supposed to play tomorrow outdoor. The weather forecast is not very optimist for tomorrow but the technicians begin anyway to install the structure and the
amplifier for the concert. The stage is really huge and if it does not rain, this would be our largest concert in India with a very good sound
view from the stage :
My version of the famous picture "Raising the flag on Iwo Jima" :)
Time to go to sleep, dreaming of tomorrow's concert

We began the day by recording some guitar in the hotel room, just before leaving for the place where we played that night, in the Alliance française
While doing the soundcheck, we drank an very good Indian Chai
Soundcheck by Christophe and Camille
And the concert
Because of the rain risk, we could not use the open air theatre but the place where we played was almost outdoor and were cool also.
The concert was a real success and we signed a lot of autographs
A long queue to access the stage and obtain the CD
After the show, we went to a very popular indian restaurant with some french students that we met. Very good dinner !
we were then invited in an apartement for a very friendly after show
Time to go back to the hotel at 2am. We had to wake up a Rickshaw driver ...

We are back in France after this fantastic trip to India and it is now time to continue the story of this Journey on this blog.
After our show in Pondi, we took the car to go to the airport of Chennai to take our flight to Pune. A new occasion to take some pictures of the Indian life, while watch the DVD of 3 idiots, a
Bollywood movie !
Christophe and his repaired bag (almost repaired because the tailor has twisted the strap ...)
Arrived in Pune, direction to the Hotel. Unfortunatly, the cab driver is quite young and does not know the place very well. The result : a long trip for Fabrice with many stops to ask for the
correct route to different people in the street ...
Then in the evening we were invited by the director of the French Alliance for a nice dinner in his house. Our best welcoming :)
