Mumbai express

India here we are !


Like we did it during our Balkan tour in 2007, we will try to write this blog in english because a lot of India people don't speak french !

After a long flight we finally arrived in Mumbai around midnight on wednesday evening. First issue : two of our pieces of luggage are still in Paris with some of our instruments. Don't panic, the first gig is tomorrow and the bags should arrive with the next plane.

Then we met Simon and Camille at the domestic airport waiting for our flight to Hyderabad at 5 a.m. Camille and Simon are in India for few days now, trying to meet musicians that we would like to play with in Mumbai in two weeks. For those who don't know Camille yet, we met him in 2008 in Ouagadougou, during the recording of Pariwaga.

After a long wait in the airport and a tiring flight we arrived in a wonderful hotel in Hyderabad around 7 a.m., just in time for a last drink by the swimming pool :) Time to sleep now after this long "nuit blanche".

Then, in the late afternoon, after a lunch, we took two Rickshaws for a ride in busy hyderabad, first to an exhibition about an Indian Poet, then to a rock concert in the  Hard Rock Cafe. Back to the hotel for dinner and a drink.

Now we need a good night to be in good shape for tomorrow's concert, and praying for our luggage ....

Friday morning, a telephone call in the hotel room : our bags are in Mumbai, but they will not be in Hyderabad before tonight, too late for the show.

As I am writing, we are still trying to find solution to remplace our lacking music material.
